2003-11-04 - 1:26 a.m. I was awoken by Amy stirring, still in my arms. Her back to me, she threw my right arm off of her and turned her head to face me. "What time is it?" She pushed her hair out of her face and into mine. I rolled away from her without falling completely off the bed and looked at my alarm clock, glowing green across the room. "Almost ten. We should get moving if were going to go to Redstone today." "First things first, you have to talk to Nikki." She pushed me out of the bed and onto the floor as she stretched. "You won't be any good to anyone as long as you're still worried about that girl. After that we'll head to Redstone, time permitting." "Yeah, I should go talk to her... Wait a minute. What do you mean I won't be any good to anyone as long as I'm worried about her?" My voice carried from the floor and echoed into the hall. She rolled towards the side of the bed and hung her head over the side. "We've been friends for a while, Seven. You pretty much lived at the apartment with Mary and Tessa, and I was almost always there. Up until the end of whatever it was that you and Mary had, you were pretty much my best friend. I'd still like to think of you as a good friend and I'd like to think that I know you rather well, so I'm pretty certain that I can tell when you're stuck on someone." Her face turned red as she spoke. I clasped my hands behind my head and sighed. "Believe me Amy, you don't know as much as you think. But you're right about Nikki, I can't explain it, but I'm stuck on her from some reason. I don't know what it is about her, but she makes me feel free, kind of. Maybe it's like what Martin said and that I've simply found a kindred spirit in another outcast. Or there might be something more. At this point, only time will tell." She slid off the bed and landed on top of me; straddling my thighs, my body responded without thought. She laid down with her head on my chest. I placed one hand on the back of her head and stroked her hair. "We need to get moving. I've got some other things I want to do before I talk to Nikki." I said with another yawn. "Just a few more minutes." She said in that half-asleep voice that people have. I was asleep again before she finished the sentence. I woke up again about an hour later; Amy was somewhere else. I sat up and my head began throbbing, I guess I landed on it harder than I thought. I pulled myself up onto the bed and sat there holding my head trying to control the pounding. Within a few minutes it was either under control or I was used to it; the latter choice was winning. I got up, grabbed some clean pants from one of the piles strewn throughout my room, and headed for the bathroom. I heard the television from downstairs as I passed the stairs, so I figured Amy was down there. I knocked on the bathroom door before trying the knob, just to be on the safe side. There was no reply so I let myself in and closed the door behind me. I stood over the sink and stared at myself in the mirror. My eyes were bloodshot and felt sore. I figured I would have some kind of a lump from when I head butt Aaron, but I didn't. Except for the headache I felt more or less fine. I took a quick shower and shaved the three days worth of stubble that lined my face. After the shower I noticed that my eyes had cleared up and my head hurt significantly less. I slipped my pants on and headed back to my room. Amy came up the stairs as I passed them. When we got to my room she sat in the chair at my desk and spun around to face me. I pulled on a shirt and sat on my bed, looking her straight in the eyes. "Tell me about the scars on your back."
