"Parker was your roommate, right Seven?

"Yeah, I've known Parker for a few years, longer than anyone else from Redstone. He should be able to help us out.

"I've got to stop at my apartment too. So, if a few miles outside of Redstone you could put my bike back to normal, I'll ride in and meet you at Parker's later. Amy turned and looked at her shrunken motorcycle sitting next to me.

"No problem, just let me know when you want to stop. Nikki dug into her purse and pulled out her wallet. Flipping it open, she laid a twenty on the table to cover the burgers and slid a business card at Amy. "That's my cell phone number, call me when you want to meet up and we'll organize it."

Amy picked up the card and slid it into her pocket. Nikki got up and paid the bill at the register while Amy and I walked outside. I stretched in any way I could while we stood next to the car, we still had at least two hours of driving left and the backseat is rather uncomfortable.

"I don't think I trust her as much as you want me to, Seven." She leaned against the cars fender.

"Why's that, Amy?" I sat on the ground and stretched my back and legs.

"Everything just seems too convenient. Everything she knows about Cyrus and this cult, her showing up when this starts, her being ready to go this morning. It's just all way too convenient."

"I know what you mean, but we're going to need help to find and get Mary back; in our current circumstances we're going to take any and all help we can get. When you get to your apartment call Parker and let him know what we've been told. See if he knows anything about this cult or whatever. We'll go find her friend Steph."

"I'm not sure how I feel about leaving you alone with her."

"Don't worry about me, I can take care of myself. Besides, I think she's a little afraid of me."

Just then Nikki came out of the diner excusing her time by saying she had to use the restroom. We piled back into the car and set off down the highway once more. The two of them sat in near silence only breaking it to exchange comments about the scenery. The tension was thick enough to choke on. They both rolled down their windows after we found out that the air conditioning doesn't work.

Amy's hair was only about shoulder length but still blew in the wind forming blonde tangles over her right ear. She kept running her hand through it to pull out the newly formed knots and I noticed a somewhat new, or at least new to me, scar on her wrist, just over her major artery. On her next pass I reached forward and grabbed her wrist, running my thumb over the scar. She plied her hand out of mine and just said, "Later." I didn't want to press the issue, mostly because I knew she wouldn't talk about it in front of Nikki. I gave her a thumb's up next to her face and she nodded at me.

I put on my headphones since it seemed like no one was going to be doing much talking and shifted in my seat and was able to stretch out some on half the backseat. This position gave me a better view of Nikki. Her black hair streaming behind her like some kind of veil being pulled by the wind. She had slipped on a pair of sunglasses that just added to the total blackness of everything that she wore. From my vantage point I could see her looking over at Amy every-so-often, almost like she was suspicious of her.

I fell asleep listening to the same cd as last time and dreamed. I tend not to remember any dreams or dream vividly, but this was different. In this dream I was walking into a large hall with Nikki and Amy on either side of me. At the center of the hall was a large chair, almost a throne, with a dark haired individual sitting in it. The lighting was bad so I couldn't make out his features or figure out who he was, but it was definitely a he. He was flanked by six other figures. As we approached them a light from above came on, still obscuring the central figure. In the light the six people, five men and one woman, looked like rejects from a Lacuna Coil impersonation contest, all leather and buckles and strange make-up. When we finally made it to the chair the light moved to continue to obscure his features. No one moved. We all stood there staring at each other, then a voice boomed from the rafters. "Better to trust the Devil you know than the Angel you don't." Then something hit me from behind and I awoke with a slight jump.

Nikki and Amy both looked at me since I kind of yelled when I woke up. "Strange dream, sorry." They both nodded at me and I shifted in my seat. I eyed them both warily as I thought about the words from the dream, after all, The Priest had never led me wrong before.
