Whatever it was that lifted my heart decided at that moment to throw it to the ground as Nikki fell back against the wall. I heard a dense smack as her head hit the wall behind her, which drew the attention of our guards.

The tallest of the men, I had heard them call him Serge, walked over to her limp form. He bent down and lifted her head with a gentleness that I wouldn't expect from someone who kept us chained to a wall. He checked her pulse and ran his fingers through her hair where she had smacked her head. When he touched the sensitive spot that had hit the wall she popped back into consciousness rather quickly.

Before she had a chance to scream he put his hand over her mouth. "If you scream I will break your jaw. If you understand blink twice." She blinked twice quickly and he pulled his hand away from her mouth. "Oslo, bring her some light food and water. Lily, after she has eaten take her to the washroom and get her cleaned up. The master will want to see her now that she is awake."

The group just nodded at him and went about doing what he said, he was obviously the leader of this little group of whack jobs. He smiled to himself as the walked off, satisfaction painted all over his face. Then he noticed me watching him.

His face became hard and unreadable as he strode over to me. He bent down next to me leaning in very close to my face. He shifted so he was on one knee, the chains from his legs tinkling against the ground, his face always moving closer to mine.

I stared directly into his eyes the whole time. The closer he got the more I knew he expected me to flinch or cower away from him or something, but when he got too close for comfort I surprised him.

He was maybe an inch away and I really didn't want to deal with this right then, so I pulled my head back like I had to sneeze and head-butt him as hard as I possibly could. He fell back and crab walked a few feet away from me, grabbing his nose when he felt he was at a safe distance. Blood was flowing nicely from his nose, I think I broke it.

"Still some fight in you I see. I'll take care of that personally." He said as he got back up.

He dug into his pocket and pulled out the keys to my handcuffs and unshackled me. I stood up, rubbing my wrists where the handcuffs had bitten into the skin. Again he stepped back, but this time he assumed a defensive posture, expecting me to try and strike right away. Instead I began moving in a slow even circle around him; measuring him up, looking for an obvious weakness.

What he didn't notice was that the circle that I was walking around him was tightening and restricting his movement. When I was finally close enough to throw a punch, I didn't. I faked a short jab at his face and grabbed for the chains on his left leg instead. I pulled on the chain so he had to move towards me, pulling his knee up to just inside the bend of my elbow. His balance was shaken, so to try and fight his way out he started throwing punches at me. I ducked the first and blocked the second, before he could wind up a third I shoved his chest and leaned forward so he fell backwards. His head smacked the floor hard, but not hard enough to knock him out.

He tried to take out my legs with his free leg, but I kicked him in the back of the thigh while he was moving in. Before he could try anything else I threw my left leg over his and fell down. His leg ended up between mine, with his knee bent at a none to comfortable angle. The pop it made told me it was dislocated.

He screamed at the pain, most people do. I fell back landing an elbow in his stomach, knocking the wind out of him so he couldn't scream anymore. He writhed in pain on the floor for a few seconds then he swung at me again. His right forearm caught the side of my left knee; I stumbled, but I didn't fall. I stomped on his left arm and he yelled again. I kneeled down next to him and hit him in the face; a beautiful right cross. His head smacked the floor again; that coupled with his broken nose knocked him unconscious.

When I stood up I heard clapping coming from behind me. I slowly turned around to find Oslo, Lily, and the rest standing around the chair again. I fell to my knees and moved back to the wall; fighting Serge was one thing, fighting all of them is something completely different.
