That left me with Vlad and Ashe, I didn't like to looks of either of them. I had seen Ashe playing with fire for the last few days; passing streams of it between his hands and making it hold shapes in mid-air, not something I think I'd want to deal with. I hadn't heard Vlad speak during the few days that I was chained to the wall, but I heard some weird mumblings when he walked me to the bathroom. Something like he was attempting to talk, but couldn't.

I had no plan to try and escape now. Defeating Serge only rallied the rest of them from what I could tell. At this point my best bet would be to try and talk to Nikki and both of us figure something out. But this was most likely out of the question because when Lily brought Nikki back into the room she chained her another ten feet away from me. We'd have to yell to communicate and that would ruin the surprise.

When Nikki was secured to her pipe Lily joined Vlad and Ashe at the chair. She walked up behind Vlad, reached around him and began playing with his goatee. He grabbed her hand and quickly moved behind her, pulling her arm into an apparently uncomfortable position, and put his left forearm across her throat. She screamed at him in what sounded to be Italian and he only pulled up on her arm, putting her in more pain.

Ashe pulled a lighter out of one of his many pockets and lit it. He took the flame off of the lighter and threw it at Lily and Vlad. I expected it to hit Lily and knock them both over or something, but instead it flattened out into a line and hit Vlad's arm. He swung his arm out in a large circle to put out the flame and shoved Lily at Ashe. She fell into his arms and he righted her so she didn't fall. She placed a gentle kiss on his lips as some kind of thanks, I suppose.

At about this time Olso and Draco walked back into the room; Serge limped noticeably. I let out a little laugh at the limp, feeling good at having some kind of impact on the situation. Serge nodded at Vlad and before I knew what had happened he was on top of me with his boot in my throat. I looked up into his eyes and saw exactly what I needed to see. There wasn't the same psychotic twinkle that you would expect from a man that had drugged and kidnapped you, it was distress. Even though he was just following orders, as Cyrus said they would, his heart wasn't in it.

He kept up the pressure and I could feel the darkness creeping in at the edges of my consciousness. I clawed at his leg and he pushed down harder, his eyes had now gone neutral, he didn't care anymore. The last thing I remember before everything went black was Nikki screaming my name and crying.
