"I take it you have a plan then?"

"Of course I have a plan. We wouldn't be doing this if I didn't have a plan."

"What does this great plan entail?"

She stopped walking and stood in front of me, "This is going to take a lot out of both of us, but if it works we won't have to worry about that."

I stood there staring into her eyes, the green irises surrounding my reflection in her pupils, I could see the fear that this wouldn't work and that we would lose to Cyrus. I pulled my hands out of my pockets, grabbed her shoulders and kissed her. I half expected her to fight back or something, but she didn't. Our mouths opened and our tongues began fighting with each other, sliding in and out of each other's mouth, feeling the lines of teeth that we had between us. My arms slid from her shoulders to around her waist and her's moved up around my neck. When our mouths parted she placed one hand on my cheek and ran her fingertips along my jaw line; playing them across my lips as she pulled her hand away.

"That was nice." She smiled up at me; I saw the reflection of something moving behind me in her eyes.

"This is my dream right?" She nodded at me, looking puzzled. "Nothing can happen here that I don't want to happen then, right?" Again she nodded.

"Seven, I don't understand what you're getting at." Her head shook as she spoke.

I put one finger up to her lips to quiet her and turned around. I pointed at the tree directly behind me, it what would have been my front lawn if this were real. The tree evaporated, just as I imagined it would, leaving a little black creature behind.

Nikki threw her hands out and a net appeared over the little creature, binding it to the ground. "Before you ask, I'm not entirely sure what that thing is."

"Its part of me, can't you see it? There on its left arm, it has my scars." As I walked towards the cage it crept away from me, huddled in the back corner wrapping it's limbs around itself for protection. I reached into the cage and it sniffed my hand. I nodded at Nikki and the cage faded, the creature crawled up my arm and sat on my shoulder.

The whole time we'd been watching it, all it did was chitter like a squirrel, now it was slowing down some and it sounded like words. "we are you. you are the maker. we are shades."

"It is partially right. You are their Maker, but they are not you. These shades are remnants of memories that you pushed aside to move on. They are the mental scars that make you who you are or who you aren't. If you ignore them then they flourish here in the Dreamspace as nightmares. If you accept them, they can only make you stronger." The Priest stood there, about six feet from us, with five or six more of these shades hanging on him like little children. "Accepting these shades as part of you, Seven, will heal your chakras and release your dormant power."

I looked at the shade on my shoulder and held out my left arm. The shade looked at the scar on my arm and the one it had, it's head cocked slightly to the side as if it were thinking. After a moment it jumped at my arm and faded into the scar on my arm. The group of them that were around The Priest all moved and hid behind his legs.

I walked towards them and bend down. "Don't be afraid. I won't hurt you." This only caused them to chitter louder and faster. I sat on the ground in front of them and The Priest moved to the side. They stood there, huddled in a mass of grey flesh and eyes, chittering away in fear. I placed my hands on my thighs and closed my eyes. I cleared my mind of all distraction at the moment and could feel the area around us fade into nothingness; except for Nikki and The Priest.

I opened my eyes and the shades were sitting in the same position I was. Each with an air of confidence that they didn't have before; each with a scar on it's arm that matched up to one of mine. One by one, as I spoke the situation which had caused me to scar myself, they got up and walked towards me; fading into my arms.

After the six that showed up with The Priest faded away, five more showed up and faded into my arms. Three more then appeared, much larger than the others had been. On the first one were the scars that I received from Max and Al on our ill-fated camping trip. The other two wore the faces of my dead parents.
