"You really think you can get out? You don't even know how deep in this compound you are. You don't know how much back-up we have stationed throughout it either." Serge said through a chuckle.

"I don't think you get it. I don't need to know all of that; I just need to know that I'm getting us out of here, the rest is just meaningless details." I gave him an evil stare over Nikki's head.

"Meaningless details? No wonder we captured you so easily. You don't plan for anything do you?" He walked closer to us.

"If you try planning for everything you're not really living, you're just there. Life is the greatest adventure of them all; take it as an adventure and it will mean something."

Nikki had stopped crying and began mumbling something while drawing symbols on my shirt with her tears. I really had no clue what she was doing but I was starting to feel some strange power flowing into me. I looked down at her and she kept mumbling and drawing symbols with her eyes closed. It began to burn where she was drawing and noticed the faint smell of smoke, but nothing seemed to be on fire or smoldering.

While I was paying attention to Nikki Serge had kept on talking. He was staring at me with a puzzled look on his face when I finally looked back at him. "How dare you ignore me, do you treat all of your superiors this way?"

"Not all of them, just the ones who have no sense of who they are and don't deserve the respect they demand."

Nikki pushed herself off of me when she felt my muscles tense. As I stood up so did she; moving behind me and whispering in my ear, "armor of faith, as long as you believe in yourself it will protect you. I cast it so it attached to your power, you fuel it, you can shape it." She kissed my cheek and moved back towards the wall.

My eyes had never left Serge; the rest of them didn't move from around the throne, but they were tensed to spring into action at a moments notice. He saw my eyes flinch towards the others, "Just you and I, honor among warriors. I know the girl has done something to you, so I will be able to use magic as well."

As soon as he said that I knew no good could come from it. He crossed his arms in front of his chest in an 'X' and began mumbling something about fires of purification and waters of redemption. When he pulled his arms apart one was on fire and the other seemed to be made out of water.

"This cannot be good."
