2005-04-06 - 3:01 p.m. "What's going on? What's The Priest doing?" "There are a lot of things that no one seems to know about The Priest. The man has an incredible amount of power at his disposal, he just didn't know how to access or use it. I just opened his mind to it and taught him some things." I looked down at her incredulously. "You taught The Priest how to use magic? The man isn't stable, why would you put that much power is his hands?" "There isn't time to explain now, how many times has he hit the wall, nine I think, on the next one he should break through and when he does we run towards the hole. Just concentrate on not being seen and we'll be fine." I couldn't believe that she changed the subject like that. The Priest and I got along well enough because I was able to look past his eccentricities, but I guess I couldn't really get past them. The man had suffered and seen atrocities that most people probably couldn't even comprehend; and Nikki went and gave him access to all kinds of power. This doesn't bode well for the future. "Start running... now." Nikki yelled and pulled my by the hand as The Priest came crashing through the wall in Nikki's car. I looked behind us as we ran across the warehouse floor, sprinting for the open car doors, and Cyrus and his whole crew just looked dumbfounded. We jumped into the car and The Priest threw it into reverse and sped back the way he came. As if strange things weren't happening already, as we backed through each hole in the walls they pulled back together. At final count when the car finally spun around we had driven through five walls and there were no signs of it actually happening, either on the wall or on the car. The car had to be magiced in some way to withstand that kind of damage. "We need to get someplace safe, somewhere they won't follow us. Any ideas from either of you?" "I know a place, I will take us there." And he started driving across town. "Wait a minute; we can't just leave like this. Amy is still in there, we need to find her and make sure she's safe." I yelled from the backseat. "Seven, we can't do anything without a plan. We can't just go running in there, grab her and run out." "Look around, the streets are empty, that means that they have control of almost everyone and everything in this town. There is nothing we can do if we act rashly. I will take us someplace safe to rest and plan." I knew they were right so I sat back and tried to enjoy the ride. Looking around as we drove, there was nothing open, no one on the streets; it was like the town had been abandoned. There had to be more to this than just Cyrus. "Priest, I need to stop at Parker's apartment. There are some things there that I need." "This isn't the time for reminiscing in your friend's apartment." "Listen, there has to be more to this whole cult than just Cyrus. I left Parker a lot of my books when I left, they would have been too hard to explain to Natalie or Martin; and he has my spare guitar case." "And what do we need these books and guitar case for?" "The guitar case has some things I need in it and the books are for research. I'm pretty sure I read something about The Church of the Blue Moon in one of them." "To Parker's then."
