"Backfired may not be the word for it; I would say backfired if it was failing completely, but it's not. It's just not the mission that we started off on." She moved onto the floor so she could get into the guitar case better.

"It just seemed so easy in the beginning. We were going to come back here and get Mary away from Cyrus and all was going to be well after that. Now we've got people going missing, a cult based around who-knows-what, magic and witchcraft, and the girl we came to rescue doesn't seem to want to be rescued. Whatever plan we had is now completely useless and I really don't think I can come up with something at this point.

"So don't. Leave the plan up to The Priest and me. Right now go take a shower and get something to eat.

I leaned down and kissed her on the cheek before I got up and went towards the bathroom to shower. I stopped in the doorway to the bathroom and watched her looking through my letters and pictures for a few moments before she turned and shooed me away.

The bathroom was small but seemed spacious enough to have a party in it. I turned the shower on as hot as I could get it and let the room fill with steam before adjusting it to something more tolerable. I washed up quickly but stayed under the spray of the water until the pain from my injuries died down. I didn't notice it until I was under the water but I had a lot of little cuts and scratches on my arms and back.

I soaped up one last time to make sure the wounds were clean and during the final rinse I heard the door open and footsteps on the tiles. I turned off the water and reached out to grab a towel off the sink and wrapped it around myself before I opened the curtain.

"Can I help you, miss?" She giggled and leaned against the counter bye the sink.

"Well sir, I think it is I who can help you." She stepped away from the counter leaving a pile of clean clothes behind and giggled again.

I started drying off and she just stood there; her eyes tracing over my body, almost memorizing my shape and form. When I finished drying my hair she walked towards me and stood about an arms length away.

I raised one eyebrow at here and kind of smirked. She took the towel out of my hand and threw it onto the pile near the door. "I think this is where we left off last time." She said as she threw her arms around my neck and pulled me to her.

I leaned down and kissed her, we were nearly the same height so it wasn't that far to lean. She pushed back against my mouth with a lot of pressure before she pulled away and just looked up into my eyes. I kissed her again, our mouths parting slightly letting the tips of our tongues touch ever-so-slightly before pulling back into our own mouths. We stood there, arms wrapped around each other, foreheads touching, simply staring into each other's eyes.

"Your eyes are so blue; I think I could lose myself just staring into them." She whispered before kissing me again.

"I'm already lost in the green of yours." I whispered after we broke the kiss.

She reluctantly pulled away, "Get dressed and meet me in the living room." She kissed me one last time and ran her fingers down my chest as she walked away.
