"Oh where to start, where to start."

Parker smacked me in the back of the head, "Try starting at the beginning, schmuck."
"Long version or short version?"
"Sweet merciful crap Seven, just tell him what we know."
"We don't know much but here goes: Amy came to me looking for Mary, because Mary has said she was coming to visit me, but never made it. Or at least I didn't see her. After getting in a fight with a few goons back in Shawston I got a phone call from Mary asking for help, which in and of itself is odd.
"The next morning Amy, Nikki and I drove to Redstone to try and search for Mary. Nikki's friend Steph had been living in Redstone doing some kind of photography project and told her what she knew about the strange and random happenings Redstone.
"As it turns out, Cyrus is running some kind of cult with delusions of taking over the world or something. But from your letter you know about Cyrus and the cult. Nikki, Steph, Amy and I were kidnapped from Amy's apartment the day we arrived in Redstone by Cyrus's thugs; more like mercenaries than thugs.
"Nikki and I were held together and I don't know what happened to Steph or Amy. The mercenaries were always there with us. I fought one of them and was choked unconscious by another one. Four days later I came to in their infirmary. Cyrus, Mary and I had a face to face thing and then I was sent back to wherever we were being held. Mary didn't want to be rescued, it was all part of Cyrus's plan to capture me, Nikki was just a bonus I guess.
"After that I ended up fighting the first on again and barely keeping up with him. I didn't beat him, but we got away. Nikki had contacted The Priest somehow and they were able to devise an escape plan. We got out of there and The Priest brought us here. And that more or less brings us up to the present."
"Then it seems like we've got our work cut out for us. You've been to my apartment since then?"
"Yeah, as soon as we escaped from Cyrus that was our first stop. We picked up Seven's books and his guitar case. We haven't started any research yet though, we got a little sidetracked." She giggled.
"I noticed that when The Priest brought me in. You two were asleep and I didn't feel the need to wake you. So I slept in one of the bedrooms and took a shower this morning, I take it you made the stew last night Seven?"
"Of course, who else could throw together such wonderful food from nearly nothing?
"It was tasty, I'll give you that much. Now tell me about the ring you're wearing and why do I get a strange feeling from it?" Parker pointed at my right hand.
I looked down at my hand and I saw the black band that was around Nikki's ring wrapped around my ring finger like it had always been there. "To be perfectly honest I have no idea how I got it on. Nikki had it on her ring to remember her previous boyfriend after he died and now its on my finger. Beyond that I've got no clue."
