"Oh, this should be good. Are you like my long lost uncle or something?"

"No Seven, we share no blood. I knew your parents before they died. They were in Redstone gathering information on a tip they had received. You may not have known it but your parents were the supernatural police, for lack of a better term, for this area of the state."

"Wait a minute; your parents were Samual and Andrea Judeca?" She sat back, deep in thought.

"Yeah, they were. Someone better start explaining some more."

"There is a council of magic users that presides over the rest; families that have used magic for centuries head this council and the most powerful mages and witches are among them. Neither of your parents were from any of the ruling families yet they possessed abilities that no one had witnessed in centuries; thought manipulation and earth conjuring chief among them.

"The council wanted them to teach the rest of the families how to do what they did and to procreate with the other families to release these gifts back into the culture. But they were in love and wanted nothing more than to start a family by themselves, which upset the council to no end. Your parents taught what they could to the Welch and the Montclair families; they were then allowed to marry and they disappeared shortly thereafter.

"They resurfaced several years later in Shawston with two small children. The council knew where they were and what they were doing the whole time they were gone, but had gone to great lengths to protect them. They were to have no contact with the council ever again, but they were to work for the council by keeping the peace between other mages and witches in the area. Anna Welch was their council handler."

"So my parents were like special ops for this council or something?"

"That and so much more. They were hope for the council. The abilities your parents had were aberrations at this point; no one had had them in centuries. The council thought that your parents might awaken other abilities that had been lost in other families or in their own children. But when you and Natalie were presented to the council there was no trace of magic in either of you. To the council it seemed as if the awakening of your parents' abilities cancelled out the chance of you two have magical abilities."

"So I shouldn't be able to use magic at all?"

"According to the council, no, you shouldn't be able to."

"Which either means that whoever tested you as a child was wrong or something had to happen to you to awaken your abilities."

"Technically he can't use magic. He hasn't consciously affected anything yet, the key and the ring happened while you were both asleep."

"But I tied the armor I put on him into his magic; he was the one powering it."

"Nikki, The Priest, and Cyrus all said something about when my chakras get healed or opened I would release some kind of dormant power or something."
